Common Causes of Indoor Allergies

A lot of people see their home as a refuge, but unfortunately, even when indoors, some people are still affected by allergies. There are a couple common causes of indoor allergies, and ways to deal with them.

First and foremost is dust. Dust is like the indoor version of pollen in that it’s everywhere, and it’s going to make you sneeze.

It doesn’t help that it can also attract dust mites. The majority of dust is actually made up of dead skin, and dust mites thrive on it. Dust mite droppings can trigger undesirable asthma and allergy symptoms. That goes for a lot of house hold pests like roaches and other insects.

Mold and pet dander are two more common allergens you’ll find inside, but are hopefully avoidable by eliminating any mold present in your home, and avoiding pets that shed or trigger your allergies.

There are a few things you can do to combat these triggers. Trying to keep your home clean and free of dust and bugs can go a long way. But on top of that, people have claimed that hardwood floors have done wonders for their allergies. Carpet seems to tend to trap allergens and ca make things worse.

Now, it would be unreasonable to expect everyone to just tear all the carpet out of their house, but one thing you can add
