While it remains most people’s favorite season, Summer comes with a host of annoyances. While Georgia does have a humid climate, your air conditioner tends to suck that humidity right out of your house. Nobody wants a dry, scratchy throat. You may need a humidifier to combat it. To help you understand a bit about them, we’ve put together some FAQs.
How do they work?
Different processes get used to achieving the same goal: putting moisture into your air using a fine mist. Evaporative humidifiers do this by fanning the air in and out through a water source. Warm mist humidifiers just heat water until the mist floats out into your house.
How humid should I get the air in my house?
Ideally, you will want your house in the range of 30% and 50% humidity. If it gets above 50%, it can become a perfect environment for mold and bacteria to start growing.
Should I use cool or heated humidifiers?
Choose which type you want based on your preference. The only difference between the two comes from the temperature of the mist produced. Heated humidifiers will increase your room temperature by a few degrees, while cool ones will decrease it.
